My Real Birthday

So my real birthday was yesterday and I officially turned 15 at 9:15 a.m.!  Anyways, my mom and I went to a local breakfast joint called "Two Sisters Coffee Shop" and it was delicious, as it always is! If you are ever looking for a great place to eat breakfast in Cape Ann, I recommend you go there!

I had an omelet with swiss cheese, mushrooms, onions, bacon, and bell peppers (obviously)! Omelets are my favorite breakfast food, especially from "Two Sisters Coffee Shop"! While we were eating breakfast, Sue (our really good family friend), texts my mom saying that she wants to meet us up at the North Shore Mall, since my we all needed to go up to up there anyways.

My mom and I were going to the mall to find a Vera Bradley bag, called the Hipster, that I've been looking for, for weeks! Even though Vera Bradley is expensive, I fell in love with this color called Hello Dahlia. That's why Vera Bradley is so costly because of the fact that there are loads of beautiful, unique and amazing patterns that you can't find anywhere else. Then you get hooked to those patterns!

Since we did get to the mall a little bit earlier than we said we would, we went into Macy's to get our makeup done. Then we ended up spending $50 on two shades of eye shadow, which wasn't planned at all! Anyways, since we did get a little side tracked in Macy's, we rushed right into the Hallmark store (where they sell Vera Bradley) to find that Hipster! Unfortunately, we didn't find the pattern I wanted. :( While we was there, we soon found out from one of the store employees that the pattern was going to be discontinued, so there was a limited amount of products left in that pattern. That certain Hallmark store didn't want to take the chance of buying that pattern. Oh well!

Sue then called my mom right as we were leaving to ask us where we were, but we couldn't stay because we were going to get our nails done at 12:00 p.m. and we had only 10-15 minutes to get there! Unfortunately, we didn't get to see her. My mom and I kind of felt bad afterwards because of the fact that we drag her all the mall (which is a thirty minute drive) to see us and we didn't even get to see her!

We then rushed to a nail and hair salon in Beverly, MA. Me and my moms good friend, named Audrey (who also dated my older brother, Shane), worked at the salon, as well. We got to get our finger nails shellacked and I got my toe nails regularly painted.  I also got two pink feathers and silver tinsel in my hair! How exiting!

Do you see the feathers and tinsel? Sometimes it can be very hard to see!

Me and my mom were thinking about going to the Burlington Mall, where they had an official Vera Bradley store, but we decided not to go since it was a too time consuming. We were also considering that we still had to stop at my grandmothers and be back to my house by 6 p.m. so that my mom could teach a Zumba class. Also, what if the store didn't even have the pattern I wanted? It would have been such a waste. So, my mom just called the Vera Bradley store when we were at the salon and come to find out that they don't even have the pattern I wanted! Good thing we didn't go all that way for nothing! So my mom ordered the Hipster through the phone and I was so glad she got it!

Since, we had such limited time, my mom and I were going to go to the North Shore Mall, again, but decided against it because we were still worried about the time limitation.

As we were going home, we stopped at a Dunkin' Donuts to get some Pina Coolata's. As we were in the drive threw my grandmother calls up my mom and rudely scolds her and says, "Where are you?" Now that wasn't called for! Just because we said we would come over at some point in the day doesn't mean that we would be there when 'Her Majesty' assumed. She thought we would be at her house at 1 p.m. even though she knew our nail and hair appointment was at 12 p.m.! First of all, it takes an hour for both of us to do our hair because my mother and I have very thick hair and secondly, it takes another hour for our nails because shellack is very hard to put on! My grandmother, then proceeds on lecturing my mother about how we messed up her whole schedule! Well, me and my mom had a schedule, too, after all, it was my birthday! Now, if I was her, I wouldn't assume much anymore, because for the most part, assumption aren't usually correct unless you consult someone first.

So my mother and I start to drive to my grandmothers house and we stopped at the Guitar Store to picked up some glow in the dark lights for my mothers Zumba class. I saw a Taylor Swift piano book for her newer album called 'Speak Now' for I do play piano. The exiting part was that my mom let me get it! I probably won't be able to play them for awhile because the songs a little bit advanced for me, but that's fine.

When we got to my grandmothers house, I opened my present. Guess what it was? The Hipster. It wasn't even the color I wanted! Oh, great! So you don't even tell my mother that you got me this, even though you had it for three weeks? My Grammy thought that my mother would tell me that she got it for me, that's why she didn't tell my mom! Even though my mother does have ADD, she would never tell me because she's not a kid anymore! My mom would of instead, convinced me not to get the Hipster, then I would have been surprised that I got it as a present! Secondly, she wasted my entire families time. My family, including myself wasted about two weeks, trying to find this bag! My grandmother then insisted that we didn't tell her we were looking, when we certainly did! Maybe she's getting dementia...? Also, if she did tell my mom, she would have gotten the right color because, of course, my mom would have told her! I mean I was fine with the color that she gave me, but once again, when you start to fall in love with one of Vera Bradley's patterns you get hooked to it! I just would have liked my grandmother if she had just told my mom. It would have gone much more smoothly. Don't get me wrong, I do love my grammy, but this is just one incident that I was not pleased with...

Once, we got in the car to go home, my mom started to explain that it was not nice of her to feel that way because in fact, it was very nice of Grammy to give me that present because normally she just gives her grandchildren money (and not even a lot). So for my grandmother to take her money (and she doesn't have much) and spend it on her granddaughter for her birthday is very unusual and kind. I am thankful that she got me the bag, but it would have been a little bit better if she just have told my parents.

Anyways, after my dad got home from work and after my moms Zumba class, my mom, dad, brother and I went to J.T. Farnhams in Essex, MA. Since I have never had lobster before - which is a surprise to me because, after all, Cape Ann is a fishing/lobstering community - I tried a lobster and it wasn't what I expected at all! It just tasted like the ocean! It was also kind of gross to think about, too, because it was just alive ten minute before I ate it and it made it even worse when I was actually looking at the whole lobster, shell and all, on my plate - dead.

I had a great birthday, other than the Grandmother situation!

The End!

Birthday

So yesterday, I had a birthday party because I am turning 15 on the 26th (and yes, I'm not too old to have birthdays)! We all went on my boat, as seen below, and it was WICKED amazing! I can't even explain how sun drunk I was afterwards!

(I'm the farthest to the left)
(I'm the one with the strapless bikini)

We then came to my house around 6:45 at played "Apples to Apples," with my brother and his crazy friends (I'm just kidding, I consider them as my brothers)! Just try to add sun drunkness with crazy 13-year-old boys and you get the most exhasting feeling you ever will feel in your life!

(I'm the blondie with green shorts)!

We also had some delicious ice cream cake from Super Stop & Shop and some great "Chinese food." Oh, how I love my ditzy friends!

We then opened some awesome presents that my oh so ditzy friends gave me! I am so very thankful for these because I couldn't have asked anything more from them!

My friend Michaela gave this journal and was really interesting because it was actually home made in Southern Mexico by Mayans. It also has this particular smell to it that I can't make out. Maybe it is the smell of hard work!

My other friend, Emma, game me 2 books out of a 3 book series. The first book I thinks is called, The Summer I Turned Pretty, and the second one I think is called, It's Not Summer Without You. This book seems really fascinating because I saw my other friend, Abby, reading these books.

My friend, Ari, gave me this pillow, too. Her mom, named Marjorie, knits and Ari says she only knits for "special occasions." Which in fact, she should be selling what she makes because she is that amazing at knitting.

My friend, Maddie gave me a "friendship box," and she order the book, To Kill a Mockingbird (which I've already read, but that's fine).

Then we watched a total teenage chic-flik called, "Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging." If your a teenager and your wicked into chic-fliks, I recommend this movie to you, BIG TIME!

The End!
